Thorpeness Rugby Club – Story
The new club was formed in March 2010, Current club captain James Cook and Fixture secretary Mark Souter coming up with the idea to have a club closer to home than the clubs they were playing for Southwold and Woodbridge.
Once a deal was struck to play at Thorpeness then things moved fairly quickly, players started signing up, a small Committee was assembled and Sponsors started helping, the Suffolk RFU accepted our application to join the Suffolk League and we have not looked back.
With the help of Volunteers and Sponsors CRASL and many more we have been able to establish ourselves in the league, Winning division 2 in our second season, along with the Harling cup (invitational event) and the Veterans League Fair Play Trophy.
This season we are playing in Suffolk Division 1 and working towards a long term agreement to stay at Thorpeness and help build a bigger and better Community sports facility.
